OBI Seafoods Data Breach Settlement

Alaska seafood processor OBI Seafoods agreed to a $380,280 settlement after an August 2024 cyberattack on its systems allegedly exposed a wide range of worker data, from Social Security and taxpayer numbers to bank account and health insurance information. Class members can claim reimbursement of up to $5,000 for losses they can document, or opt for a no-documentation pro rata cash payment whose size depends on claim volume. Everyone in the class can also request a year of CyEx Medical Shield credit monitoring. The claim deadline is August 20, 2026, with final approval to be considered September 4, 2026.

People, largely employees, whose private information was caught up in the August 2024 cyberattack on OBI Seafoods and who received a settlement notice. Exposed data allegedly included Social Security numbers, bank account details, medical and insurance information, and government IDs.

Up to $5,000 for documented losses incurred between August 16, 2024 and August 20, 2026, or a pro rata cash payment with no proof; a year of medical-focused credit monitoring is also available.

No payment amount is ever guaranteed. Pro rata payouts shrink as more valid claims come in, and every payment waits on final court approval and any appeals.
