Stanford Federal Credit Union NSF Fee Settlement

Saldivar v. Stanford Federal Credit Union targeted the credit union's habit of charging repeat insufficient-funds fees, and then sometimes an overdraft fee, when the same check or ACH item was re-presented for payment. The $450,000 settlement resolves those claims for account holders spanning June 2016 through September 2025. Members do not need to file anything: after fees, costs, and service awards come out, the administrator sends each class member a share proportional to the disputed fees on their account. August 13, 2026 is the deadline to opt out or object, and the court considers final approval on December 10, 2026.

Current and former Stanford Federal Credit Union checking account holders who, between June 19, 2016 and September 22, 2025, were hit with two or more NSF fees, or an NSF fee followed by an overdraft fee, on the same ACH transaction or check.

Automatic pro rata cash payment scaled to the number of challenged NSF and overdraft fees each member was charged; no claim form needed.

No payment amount is ever guaranteed. Pro rata payouts shrink as more valid claims come in, and every payment waits on final court approval and any appeals.

No documentation is required. In fact, no claim form is required at all: eligible class members are identified from records and paid automatically.
