BMW Shark-Fin Antenna Settlement

Craft v. BMW of North America (D.N.J., No. 2:24-cv-06826) targets a water-intrusion problem tied to the shark-fin roof antenna seal on certain 2019-2020 BMW X-series SUVs. The settlement pays back documented repair costs and extends warranty coverage for the defect. Filing takes real paperwork: VIN, mileage proof, itemized repair records, and proof of payment. Opt-out and objection windows closed June 30, 2026, and the approval hearing was held July 28, 2026, but repair claims can still be filed through August 27, 2026.

Current and former owners or lessees of certain model-year 2019-2020 BMW X3, X4, X5, X6, and X7 vehicles affected by the roof antenna sealing defect. Reimbursement covers repairs done while the vehicle was under 10 years old or 120,000 miles.

Full reimbursement of sealing-defect repair costs at BMW Centers (no cap), or up to $2,000 for repairs at independent shops, plus an extended New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

No payment amount is ever guaranteed. Pro rata payouts shrink as more valid claims come in, and every payment waits on final court approval and any appeals.
